Carbon emissions from the fashion industry account for 10% of global emissions, greater than those from all international air travel and sea transport put together. The textile and clothing industries are also major contributors to water and land pollution.

Given the rise of fast fashion and clothing consumption, the fashion industry’s greenhouse gas emissions are predicted to climb over 50% by 2030.

Sustainable fashion addresses many of the fashion industry’s environmental and social issues by minimizing energy and water use, waste, carbon emissions, use of eco-friendly materials, and encouraging circularity.
